The fifth season of Beverly Hills: Nine begins streaming on January 6 on Netflix India.
The drama, which was first conceived by British-Indian director Shashank Joshi, is the story of the Beverly Hills 9, a young group of wealthy real estate moguls and their daughter, who are on a break from their lucrative and stressful life in Beverly Hills.
The plot, which has the cast members staying together, centres around a group of Indian men in the entertainment industry who must make a deal with a powerful Indian businessman.
In a statement, the film’s director Shashi Tharoor said: “Briar Hills: Beverly Hills is a story about two brothers, brothers in common, who go on a journey of love, adventure and discovery.
The journey is a true family affair, as they embark on a series of unforgettable adventures.”
I can only imagine the amazing life stories these brothers and sisters would share if we were in their place.
“Bri, Javed and Amul, they are the kindest, funniest, most generous and kindest people I have ever met.
They are like the boys in our school.”
The five-part series follows the lives of the characters, with each episode covering a different aspect of their lives.
The film is based on the real-life case of Amitabh Bachchan and Kajol Jaffer, the sons of Indian-American billionaire Rajiv Bachchan, who were arrested in 2008 in New York and charged with insider trading.
The brothers have since been cleared of wrongdoing.
The fifth season, which will be released on Netflix in India on January 20, is based off the series and has a screenplay by Shashikant Srivastava and an ensemble cast led by Kajal Tharose, Vikram Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Sajid Jaffer and Gauri Kaur.
The sixth and final season of the series, set to be released in the first half of 2017, will follow the family of a Pakistani-American man who was arrested in New Delhi and charged for allegedly hacking into India’s nuclear power stations.
