Swiss authorities have raided the property of a real estate agent and arrested the owner of a luxury apartment in the capital Bern, state media reported on Friday.
The Bern-based Bernbros Real Estate Association said in a statement that the raid took place in the city’s “high-rise complex” of the same name.
The agency did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The statement did not identify the real estate broker who was arrested, but the Bernbos association said he was a director of the firm.
The statement said the agent had been detained since Tuesday.
The raid was one of several by Swiss authorities on property and other properties since the beginning of this year.
The latest raid followed an investigation by the Berns state prosecutor, Bernhard Janson, into suspected tax evasion and financial mismanagement at the property agency in November.
The authorities have also raided property of the Swiss Real Estate Board (SRB), which regulates the industry.
The SRB, a Swiss government-owned group, oversees more than 600,000 apartments in Switzerland, with prices ranging from between 3,000 to 6,000 Swiss francs ($3,000 and $6,000).
