Boston real estate is one of the top five markets in the country for new construction, according in a report from Trulia, and the city has one of most expensive median house prices in the nation, at $2.5 million.

The number of properties in the city of Boston that sold for more than $1m, including condos, townhouses and apartment buildings, were more than double the state average.
The Boston metro area has more than 1.3 million people.
Trulia estimates that there are more than 15,000 sales of properties valued at $500,000 or more per month, with median sales prices of $5 million and up.
The Bay State is also home to the country’s second-highest concentration of single-family homes, according Trulia data.
The state has the most single-home homes per capita in the United States, at more than 17.2.
Truba’s highest single-house sale price was $2 million in 2017, while the highest average price per unit was $3.937, Trulia said.
BUYING IN BROOKLYN BROOKlynn, Mass., is the second-most expensive city in the U.S. for new home purchases, Truba reported.
The city is ranked No. 8 in the metro area in the number of homes sold for $1 to $5.8 million.
Trubas median home price in 2017 for single-unit homes was $821,000, and its median home sale price of more than half a million dollars was $6.7 million.
That’s more than triple the state’s average of $2,400 per unit, Trubasi reported.
